Determining residency
The state of Iowa determines Iowa residency using the following policies. There are certain exceptions (explained in the policy referenced below).
Community College students should refer to the Iowa Community College Uniform Policy on Student Residency Status - page 3, 12.2(11).

Exception - If the individual qualifies for Iowa resident classification under section in 281—21.2(11)b(5) only, he or she is not considered a resident of Iowa for purposes of state-funded student financial aid.
