Life can be challenging, especially when you’re juggling school, family, work and the many other things that life throws at us. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or need someone to talk to, a Western Iowa Tech mental health counselor is available for one-on-one counseling at our Sioux City, Cherokee, and Denison campuses during regular college business hours. After hours, help is available.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is our highest priority for your safety and for our safety. We follow HIPAA guidelines and use a HIPAA approved medical record that is stored separate from the college and is managed solely by the Counseling department. If you have any questions about confidentiality, please reach out. The only reason our department would break confidentiality is if you are at immediate harm to yourself or someone else.
Our Vision
To build well-being processes for all students and create a college environment where mental health is a priority for all.
Our Mission
To help all students feel valued, supported, included and to create a space where all can belong.
