Social work is a helping profession. Social workers assess human problems and engage in problem solving. The social worker understands the process of individual development and of interaction with the social environment. The baccalaureate major in social work (BSW) prepares generalist social workers at the undergraduate level for entry-level positions in social work and for graduate social work. There is a high demand for licensed social workers and the career outlook looks very strong.
Program Entry
Students enrolled in this cooperative program complete their Associate of Arts at Western Iowa Tech Community College and Bachelor at the University of Northern Iowa.
