  1. Go to https://studentaid.gov/ and log into your FAFSA
  2. Click on "make correction"
  3. Using the tabs at the top go to your Financial Information
  4. Answer the questions to determine if you are eligible to link to the IRS
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to transfer your 2020 IRS information onto your FAFSA
If you cannot use the Data Retrieval Tool or you are not required to file a 2020 Federal Tax Return you will need to:
  6. Go to www.irs.gov
  7. Click on "Get Your Tax Record"

To request your transcript be mailed contact the IRS at 800-908-9946 or complete the 4506T form and mail directly to the IRS.

  • If you are unable to get an IRS tax transcript, please submit a signed copy of your 2020 Federal Income Tax return and all schedules.

NOTE: If you are not required to file a tax return you must submit both a 2020 IRS Non-Filing Letter AND 2020 Wage and Income Transcripts.
