Your 2022-23 FAFSA was selected for review in a process called "Verification". To complete the process follow the steps below:
The best and quickest way for you to verify income is by using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool that is part of your online FAFSA:
- Go to https://studentaid.gov/ and log into your FAFSA
- Click on "make correction"
- Using the tabs at the top go to your Financial Information
- Answer the questions to determine if you are eligible to link to the IRS
- Follow the instructions on the screen to transfer your 2020 IRS information onto your FAFSA
If you cannot use the Data Retrieval Tool or you are not required to file a 2020 Federal Tax Return you will need to: - Go to www.irs.gov
- Click on "Get Your Tax Record"
To request your transcript be mailed contact the IRS at 800-908-9946 or complete the 4506T form and mail directly to the IRS.
- If you are unable to get an IRS tax transcript, please submit a signed copy of your 2020 Federal Income Tax return and all schedules.
NOTE: If you are not required to file a tax return you must submit both a 2020 IRS Non-Filing Letter AND 2020 Wage and Income Transcripts.
Submit these form(s) and other supporting documents (if needed) to Student Financial Services by fax to 712-274-6470 or drop them off in Student Financial Services located on campus.
