Mellisa Flanigan

Mellisa Flanigan is an experienced educator and leader in higher education, specializing in administrative office management, bookkeeping, and paralegal studies. She holds a Doctor of Education in Administration and Leadership in Higher Education, a Master of Science in Administration and Human Resources, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance.

Mellisa has been a valued member of the faculty at Western Iowa Tech Community College since 2012, where she has played a pivotal role in shaping programs that equip students with the skills needed for success in business and legal fields. Prior to her academic career, Mellisa gained practical experience in customer service, banking (with a focus on fraud specialty), and logistics, which continues to inform her teaching approach and real-world perspective.

Her dedication to student success and professional development has been recognized through numerous awards, including Teacher of the Year in 2022 and the Transformation and Engagement Award in 2021. Through her leadership and commitment, Mellisa continues to inspire and support the next generation of professionals.
