Foundational Series - Electrical Training
Basic Electrical - 12 hours
This course covers the fundamentals of electricity, covering volts, amps, resistance, power and electrical calculations. It also covers the use of multi-meters for measuring voltage, current and resistance. This program will develop an understanding of electrical input and output devices, basic electrical circuits, electrical symbols and diagrams with hands-on basic circuit construction and troubleshooting.
Electrical Sensors - 8 hours
This course covers industrial sensor types and operation, specifically limit switches and float switches. It also covers flow switches, pressure switches, photoelectric switches, proximity switches, reed switches and Hall Effect switches. This program has hands-on wiring and power requirements of electrical sensors, sensor setup and adjustment, sensor circuit construction and troubleshooting.
Industrial Motors - 8 hours
This course covers industrial motor types, construction, and operation, with interpreting motor nameplate information. It also has hands-on motor disassembly and maintenance. The hands-on training also includes single phase, three phase, dual voltage motor wiring, and dual voltage three-phase motors. Hands-on training additionally includes testing and troubleshooting motors.
VFD Basics - 8 hours
This course covers the fundamentals of VFD operation with basic VFD wiring and programming. It also covers VFD control options and limitation, with hands-on troubleshooting VFDs and VFD control.
PLC Basics - 8 hours
This course covers the fundamentals of PLC operation and control and PLC hardware and electricity requirements. It also covers inputs and outputs (I/O) with fixed and modular units. Hands-on training includes introduction to PLC programming languages with basic programming.
AC Transformers - 4 hours
This course covers the fundamentals of electrical transformer theory and operation, with transformer input and output ratings. It also covers single, dual and multiple voltage transformer wiring with transformer symbols and schematic diagrams. Hands-on training includes transformer troubleshooting.
