Registration How to Get Started
Admission at Western Iowa Tech is based on an open-door policy.The college accepts any high school graduate (or equivalent) who seeks general admission. Application for general admission may be completed online. Contact Admissions and Advising with any questions you may have by emailing info@witcc.edu or calling 712.274.6403. Use the following Getting Started list to work through the process of applying, registering and getting started at WITCC.

Getting Started at WITCC

  • Your personal starting point
    You can start by setting up a MyHub site to give you specific information to help you get started at WITCC.
  • Apply Online
    The online application generates the login and password for MyWIT so you can register for classes online. It takes approximately one full business day to set up your account.
  • Computerized Placement Test (CPT)
    If you have not taken it yet, go to the CPT page for more information.
  • Apply for Financial Aid
    Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1 for classes starting in the fall. WITCC's Federal School Code is 004590. You can also apply for scholarships on MyWIT.
  • Student Housing
    If you are looking to stay in student housing, you will need to apply right away as housing fills up quickly.
  • Registering for Classes
    When registering for classes the first time at WITCC, we highly recommend you speak with an admissions advisor first. Stop into any campus or call us at 712.274.6402 or 800.352.4649 Ext. 6402. If you are already on track with your academic plan, you can register online at MyWIT.
  • Paying for classes
    Use your financial aid; pay with cash, credit/debit card or check; set up a payment plan with FACTS Tution Management on MyWIT. Sponsored students should contact their sponsoring agency.
  • Get your books
    Purchase your books online at our online bookstore and have them delivered or held for you. Or you can stop into our Sioux City campus and shop for your books and supplies in person.
